Ever since the cannabis industry was regulated in Colombia, Jose Alejandro has been involved providing legal advice to foreign investors seeking to set up cannabis projects. Being a lawyer in the U.S gives him the ability to work very smoothly with companies from the north American region, and northern Europe.

Jose Alejandro has been the legal counsel for firms that have petitioned for, and obtained, the full set of licenses to grow and manufacture cannabis products. As the market matures, now he is now involved in the stages of setting up facilities, finding financing, negotiating mergers and acquisitions, and helping clients who wish to develop brands and sell in the foreign and domestic market as well.

Jose constantly publishes articles related to cannabis and hemp, and attends trade shows to meet the main actors.

Founding partner of Abusaid Gomez & Asociados. Large national and international work experience in Foreign Investment, Commercial and Corporate Law, Commercial Contracts, Free Zone regime, foreign law and international tax planning.

He has participated in the planning, training and development of many foreign investment projects in the country, in sectors such as oil services, engineering, construction, food, pharmaceutical, medical cannabis, software development, education, real estate and others.

Founding member of the Colombian society of international law, member of the Colombo American Chamber of Commerce.

He has served as Professor of Private International Law at Universidad del Rosario for more than 10 years and has also been professor of the Master of Law at Universidad Sergio Arboleda.

Jose Alejandro has written several articles on international law published by the Universidad del Rosario and is author of the books: Negocios Exitosos, TLC Colombia-Estados Unidos and Inversión Extranjera en Estados Unidos.
