Emily Gordon is a Senior Associate at Hoban Law Group, joining the firm with a background in regulatory compliance and corporate & business law. Emily joined the cannabis industry in 2016, where she worked as the first in-house lawyer at two ancillary cannabis startups, most recently ushering a Denver-based SaaS platform through a complex business combination and subsequent listing on the Canadian Securities Exchange. Prior to joining the cannabis industry, Emily spent the beginning of her legal career navigating various Federal regulations for clients in the environmental health and safety world. Emily is looking forward to working with Hoban Law Group clients on corporate, business, and regulatory matters.
Originally from Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from William Smith College in Geneva, New York. Emily earned her Juris Doctor from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she was a member of the Women's Law Association and worked with first-year students as a writing tutor. While in law school, Emily also served as an articles editor on the Case Western Reserve Journal of International Law and worked as a judicial extern for Magistrate Judge George J. Limbert in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Emily is licensed to practice in Colorado and New York. Emily lives in Denver with her goldendoodles Nellie and Rachel, and loves thrifting, vegan cooking, and exploring all that Colorado has to offer.
