Karen Dainty was born and raised in California in a military family. A transfer to the Pentagon took her family to the East Coast when she was in high school. Karen’s first ‘real’ job was at a small patent law firm a couple of blocks from the Patent Office where she began learning patent law from the ground up.
Karen comes to the firm with more than 30 years of experience in the field of Intellectual Property, both prosecution of patents and trademarks (foreign and domestic) as well as complex patent litigation cases. She has worked in both large intellectual property firms (Merchant & Gould; Fish & Richardson) and in-house corporations (Medtronic and Teva Pharmaceuticals). Karen has a certificate in Advanced Paralegal Studies and in Electronic Discovery.
In her free time, Karen is out on her 30 acre farm in Texas where she and her husband raise and show Gypsy Vanner horses, breeds ‘doodles’ and raises cattle.
