Facebook Reverses Course with Pages Related to Hemp and CBD

In late December 2018, the hemp industry celebrated the historical passage of landmark legislation, the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 which permanently clarified and affirmed the lawfulness of hemp.

However, no one expected companies like Facebook to rain on the parade. In fact, once the 2018 Farm Bill was passed, Facebook apparently began characterizing pages related to hemp, hemp-derived products and CBD as "promoting the sale of prescription pharmaceuticals," even prompting the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's Commissioner to publicly admonish Facebook.

Thankfully, in recent days, it appears Facebook is yet again changing course and restoring pages which relate to hemp, hemp-derived products and CBD.
