Heidi Mehaffey has an extensive background as an environmental and land use attorney.

Heidi focuses on regulatory compliance with state and federal laws as well as the preservation of agricultural, rural, and environmentally sensitive areas. Heidi graduated ranked number one in her class from Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad Law Center, magna cum laude, and was honored with acceptance into the Order of the Barristers for her oral advocacy skills during moot court competitions. She focused her studies on environmental law and animal welfare issues, and her award-winning articles on animal law are published with the Mid-Atlantic Journal on Law and Public Policy and Animal Law Committee of the Florida Bar. Heidi clerked with the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington D.C. and worked alongside government attorneys and engineers focusing on state permitting programs under the Clean Water Act.

Heidi is currently licensed to practice law in Florida and North Carolina and is in the process of being admitted to Colorado. She lives in Plantation, Florida with her husband, Bryan, their two Great Danes, three parrots, and a pot-bellied pig, and enjoys spending time outside appreciating the environment. Heidi saw the therapeutic benefits of CBD first hand during her time as a director for a non-profit Great Dane rescue, has advised pet parents and rescues alike on the legalities of this holistic approach to pet wellness, and enjoys presenting educational seminars to a wide variety of audiences from elementary and law school students to legal professionals.
