Kate Strickland has worked at Hoban Law Group since its founding in 2008 and continues to play an integral role in the strategic planning for the firm's growth and development as a Special Projects Coordinator and advisor to Bob Hoban.
In May 2011, Kate graduated from the University of Colorado Denver’s School of Public Affairs and received her Master’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in local government. Kate was one of a dozen graduating students to be inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha honor society. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Political Science also from UC Denver, where she was selected as a recipient of the Chancellor’s Scholars and Leaders scholarship. During her undergraduate education, she was an intern for the Independence Institute's Future Leaders Program, where she worked on transportation and eminent domain policy, leading her to meet Bob Hoban through a mutual client.
Kate’s professional experience is widely varied and includes working as a political journalist and as the assistant director for a 2008 proposed constitutional amendment ballot initiative. She has written articles for the Denver Post, The Denver Daily News, The Rocky Mountain News and has appeared on local programming like KBDI’s Independent Thinking as well as co-hosting a local talk radio morning show on KCOL AM 600. From 2009-2011, she served as the Media Director for the Libertarian Party of Colorado.
Kate is the proud parent of a teenage daughter. In 2017, Kate was appointed to the State of Colorado Foster Care Steering Committee. She is a volunteer for Denver CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, where she works with teenagers navigating the foster care and juvenile court systems. In her free time, Kate enjoys reading, gardening and exploring the outdoors with her dog, Penny.
